PCE Wildcat Launch

Dear PCE Families,

We had another amazing week at Peach Creek Elementary! Our Wildcats worked hard as they completed their Math MAP testing, and we are so proud of the effort they put forth. With this important beginning-of-the-year data, we are excited to begin our intentional intervention groups this week!

As we continue to focus on our campus mission, Every Student, Every Day; Mission: Growth Ready!, we are committed to ensuring that every student receives high-quality, intentional instruction each and every day. Our teachers will use student data to meet students where they are, provide targeted support and enrichment, and ensure that every Wildcat is making the appropriate academic growth needed to be successful. At PCE, growth is our mission, and every student matters every single day!

We also have some exciting things happening this week! We are looking forward to welcoming our Wildcat grandparents for Breakfast with Your Wildcat on September 9th or 10th from 7:50–8:30 AM in the PCE cafeteria. We are excited to have our grandparents join us for this special time with their Wildcats and cannot wait to see everyone enjoying breakfast together!

Our Wildcats also have a fun Attendance Challenge this week! Every student who is on time each day and stays all day through 4:10 PM will earn time in our PCE Campus Arcade on Friday! We cannot wait to see our students SHOW UP and SHOW OUT this week as they work to earn some Friday arcade time! Every day of learning matters, and we are excited to celebrate our Wildcats for being here and ready to learn.

We hope all of our PCE families have a wonderful and safe Labor Day tomorrow! Enjoy the long weekend, and we cannot wait to welcome all of our Wildcats back to campus on Tuesday for another great week of learning, growing, and making memories together.

We love welcoming our families to campus to enjoy lunch with their Wildcats! As a friendly reminder, space in our cafeteria is limited. All designated visitor seating is located on the stage. If the stage reaches capacity, additional seating will be available in our Community Room near the front office.

To help us maintain a safe and organized lunch environment, students may eat with their approved visitor(s), but friends or other students are not permitted to join them at the visitor tables or in the Community Room. This helps ensure we have enough space for all of our visiting families while keeping our cafeteria routines running smoothly.

Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and continued partnership in helping us make lunchtime a safe and enjoyable experience for all of our Wildcats! 

This past week, our students have been learning about empathy—the ability to understand and care about how someone else may be feeling, even when their experience is different from our own. One thing I’m always reminded of during our empathy lessons is how many burdens our children carry. They’re full people with full emotions and a wide range of life experiences.

Just like adults sometimes put on brave faces on tough days, our children do too. A child may be smiling, playing, learning, or sitting quietly in class while navigating feelings and experiences we cannot see.

That is why we encourage our students—and ourselves—to operate with grace and assume the best. Kindness and grace speak loudly. Our children may not always remember exactly what we say, but they will remember how we made them feel.

This week, ask your child:

“What does empathy mean?”

Then follow up with:

“How can you show empathy to someone at school, at home, or in our community?”

As a family, look for one opportunity each day to choose empathy—listen, include someone, offer help, give grace, or simply ask:

“Are you okay?”

Small moments of empathy can make a BIG difference in someone’s day.

🎒 Backpack Food Program

Peach Creek Elementary partners with the Montgomery County Food Bank to provide the Backpack Food Program at no cost to families or the school. Each Friday, participating students receive a pre-packaged bag of healthy, nutritious, easy-open food to take home for the weekend. If you would like your child to participate fill out the form here.

Rescheduled Picture Day is almost here, Wildcats! We were able to get with the company and the rescheduled picture day will be September 24th. Get those outfits ready, bring your biggest smiles, and come ready to shine! We can’t wait to see all of our Wildcats smiling bright and showing off their PCE pride. It’s going to be a picture-perfect day at PCE!
